Fun with the ducks

Today Blake and I had planned on going to the Alpine splash pad for the day. Chances mom was going to come to. We were going to take a yummy picnic and spend the day soaking up the sun and playing in the water. To much disappointment.......... i came to find out the splash pad was closed :( Its not even going to open until the end of May!! I was so so sad. So chances mom and I decided we would go to the park and feed the ducks instead.

Blake/pregnancy update

Be prepared. This is a very long post. A lot of documenting. This is also my journal so i need to add everything i can.

I want to start off with an update about Blake. I have not given an update about what Blake has been up to in a really long time. I have to say i just love my little boy. e honestly has more personality than any little boy should have! He is not even two yet and i feel like he is soo smart. Here are some things he has been doing lately:
1. Blake has been saying full sentences for a couple months now. He says ( i want one, i play in the bath, watch show, go get dressed, i want my shoes/pants/shirt/socks on, ect.) Blakes words are very clear and understandable for the most part. I love this stage because he can tell me exactly what he wants and what hurts. It makes things so much easier.I helped Macy out by making brownies and cookies tonight and Blake really wanted to help. Wow the lighting makes him look like he has red hair!

2. Blake has been very naughty with screaming at me. He screams NO, STOP IT, DONT and GIVE BACK. Yikes. When he first started doing it i was shocked. Blake has always been pretty well mannered, this little naughty streak is not so much fun. He doesnt just do it to me but he does it to other kids to. None of my punishments are working on him either so i think i need to get creative.
3. Blake is obsessed with clothes. Every article of clothing. He doesnt like to stay in his pajamas, he wants to be all dressed up. He likes to pick out his own outfits. He is very picky about what hats he wants to wear and what shoes he wants to wear. Shoes are by far his favorite. He doesnt like you take to them off either. He wears shoes pretty much starting in the morning and wont let me take them off till he goes to bed and even then it is a struggle. I think he wore a brace on his feet for so long that it is comforting to him.Cheese face! YIKES cant help but laugh. He loves to stir!

4. Blake is all about playing. This kid will play all day and night. He does like to watch his shows but when someone wants to play or i bring his toys out he is all about playing. And he plays hard. He loves to wrestle with daddy. He just jumps on him and thinks it is hilarious. He LOVE LOVE LOVES to be chased. He could play chase all day to. he goes up to everyone and says, "i get you" and then runs away waiting for them to come get him. It is getting quite tiring the more pregnant i get.
5. Blake is back in the hitting phase. He knows it is wrong to. Right after he hits he gets a really worried look on his face. Most of the time it is when he is playing, but i still have to teach him no hitting. I have not really seen him hit other kids so i am not sure that he does. It is mainly jsut me and Chance. So naughty.Nummy mommy it what he kept saying. This was by far his favorite part!

6. Blake insists on having everything he eats be put in a cup(bowl). He calls oranges apples, bowls cups, and watermelon strawberries. HAHA not matter how much i try to correct him he wont change.
7. Blake is so into music. He love to dance! He knows what a guitar, piano and drums are. We were at a friends house today and they have a keyboard, a little guitar and a bucket for a drum. Blake went crazy. He was having the time of his life. He also made up his own song it goes, " I go, i play, i go i play." I love when he sings it.
8. Blake knows most all of his animals and what they say. He is also very good about folding his arms during prayer and helping me say our nightly prayers. Occasionally he asks me to sing to him at night and i just melt as i hear him trying to sing along with me.Dont worry he didnt eat a ton of this, just a couple licks. Man was he in heaven though. He doesnt get much sugar at our house so when he gets treats like this he thinks it is the best thing in the world.

For the most part, Blake is just a really happy and fun kid. He also loves babies. I am really trying to get him used to babies and being around them. He is very protective over them. He knows he is having a baby sister. Sometimes he thinks his baby sister needs his binki, so he comes and sticks it in my belly button! HAHA. Whenever i show him his baby sisters clothes he says, "Oh cute." cute cute boy24 weeks, so 6 months!

Now on to the pregnancy update. I had my 24 week appointment on Tuesday. My blood pressure and weight are great. Unfortunately i am on my second bladder infection :( And also my little girl has decided to drop a little bit. Which for most women is not that big of a deal. But seeing as how Blake dropped all the way at 27 weeks, my doctor is a little worried. He didnt put me on bed rest but i do need to take it really easy. No exercising , hard house work and no stimulation (if you know what i mean). I am having contractions but not consistent at all. May 8 a day or so. So the contractions are not bothering me at all. They are less painful then the ones i had with Blake. They are not braxton hicks, unfortunately. He will be checking my service next appointment to make sure i am not dilating. Her heat beat was really really good and strong so i am so thankful for that.

Other than that i am feeling great. This pregnancy has gone by soooo much faster. sometimes i forget i am even pregnant. I have gained weight a little differently this time. I am gaining it in my love handles as well as my belly. Last time i was all belly, but i guess that is what i get for wanting a girl! I am always wanting to eat. Not hungry, just really wanting to eat. And this pregnancy i have definitely been snappy. I catch myself snapping at Chance all the time and i feel so bad. We are so excited for this little girl to get here. We still dont know for sure what we are going to name her but we have a few names in the works. Avery, London, Sailer, Emmerson, and Jersi. Everyday i think of more to so that is not helpful. Hopefully when i see her i will know what her name is.

Blakes poor little feet

Ever since Blake was born he has had problems with his cute little feet. Well here is another one to add to the list. After we went to the zoo on Monday Blake was crying because his feet hurt he said. When i looked at his two big toes, they both looked purple and infected a little. He wouldnt let me touch them and just kept telling me they hurt. So i made an appt to see his doctor. Driving to the doctors office i just thought they would tell me its normal and to not be worried. Little did i know.......... The doctor looked at them and said , "bad news Winter, his toes need some help." I was like oh man! She explained to me that Blake toes nails grow really funky and they are pretty much growing underneath his skin. Only his big toes. She told me we have two options. 1. for the next couple weeks i would need to soak his feet 3 times a day in hot water and epson salt and then stick thin shreds of cotton balls under the nails and try to push them up. 2. She would numb the toes with litacain(no idea how to spell) which burns until it is fully numb and then cut all the skin around the toenails and kind of reshape them. We opted for number 2 :( I just knew the option 1 would not be able to happen. He would let me stick cotton under his toes that many times a day and option one may not even work. Blake has been through a lot in almost the 2 years of his life. But this particular situation was one of the worst. It was so incredibly painful for him and no matter where i was outside of the room i could hear him scream and saying HURT!!! I of course was bawling as my poor little boy was in so much pain. It is so hard to feel so helpless. There was absolutely nothing i could do to take away the pain or comfort him. They bandaged him up and right when i put him in the car he fell asleep. But every 5 minutes or so he would wake up a little and cry that his toes hurt. So of course i cry the whole way home. He slept in his bed for like 40 minutes and woke up. After his nap he was totally fine! He was walking and playing and laughing. He was on Ibuprofen so i am sure that helped, but still, he is such a trooper.


I took off the bandages to give him a bath and this is what they both looked like :( He wasnt letting me touch his feet so i couldnt get both in the picture. My poor sweet boy
During the bath i was able to get a lot of the blood off but look at all that bruising. Oh my gosh i feel so bad for him. I put some Neosporin on them and more bandages. He was crying the whole time. My sweet boy is such a tough strong little one. I feel so blessed that i have a son that can teach me so much and be so strong. I love him more than life. His binky, blankie and buzz chair always make everything better.

Hogle Zoo Fun!

My friend Katlin mentioned yesterday that she was going to take Rylan to the Zoo today. I was like what a great idea! So we all decided to go together. Blake had so much fun! Blake loves loves animals and liked running around with his buddy Rylan. I didnt realize that the Hogle Zoo really didnt have that many animals and the ones they did have were pretty much sleeping. HAHA oh well still a fun day out with friends.

I had to end with this because Blake and Rylan are just so perfect together. They never fight, they follow each other, they hold hands and they ask where each other are. I have been searching for a friend for Blake that he gets a long really well with. Blake is almost 2 so he is right at that age where he is possessive over his toys and isn't used to having friends. So its nice to have found cute Rylan

Wonderful Easter

Easter was so great this year. My brother and sister stayed the night so they could wake up in the morning and share the fun with Blake. My mom had me get them Easter baskets to so they could feel at home. We did our Easter thing in the morning and then went to Chances parents ward and house for the rest of the day. Blake got to ride the horses, play with the doggies and get spoiled rotten! I am so thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ and everything he has done for me. I feel so blessed and am grateful to be apart of his gospel and get to partake in the blessings of eternity.

This is what we got to wake up to. It was so fun getting to set everything up and be like my mom was when i was younger. I wanted it to just be perfect!
This year Blake got really excited about his Easter basket. It was so much fun. The first thing he did was take out his mickey cup with a straw. The he saw these eggs and knew there would be candy in them so he opened them all up!
He did this exact same thing with the grass last year. He pulls it all out and playsHe finally realized that his basket was a cool dump truck. Every year growing up, our baskets were never baskets. They were always something we could use like baseball bags, backpacks, beach bags ect. I definitely want to carry on this tradition. Last year Blakes Easter basket was a sand bucket and shovel. He loves this truck. He likes to take his toys for a ride
My brother and sister of course got spoiled. The fun part was they didnt even know they were getting anything for Easter! So Easter morning was so fun for them

Easter Party

Easter parties are so much fun! Well really any party i guess but Easter parties with an Easter egg hunt are my favorite! Chances family has an Easter party every year and this year was no different. We had a yummy BBQ with tons of amazing food and, fun time at the park, and to top it off a really fun egg hunt. Blake was so funny, he got really into this year.
Blake is such a boy. He ran past all the eggs only to pick up the spider man eggs! Once all those were gone he would only want the blue and green ones. What a funny boy.

The Big 25!

Thats right yesterday i turned 25. I cant believe that, it just seems so old. I remember being in young womens and my favorite leaders were 25, and now I am! I just cant believe it! 24 was a great age! Lots of fun, learning how to be a mommy, getting pregnant, learning how to be a mommy and a wife at the same time, I got to go to Texas and visit my sister, my brother got home from his mission, I started school again, and we moved into a new place. Lots of fun and lots of challenges! I think 25 is going to be the same. Since i am adding a child to my cute family, i will definitely have all the challenges and excite I could ask for.

My birthday was so much fun. I was busy all day long!


I got to start the morning with my number one fans! I love these two boys. They make me laugh so hard and they made sure i had a really good day. We got to go to Tucanos with some of Chances family which was super yummy. I am always a big fan!
Then we went practically next door to Provo Beach Resort. Blake has so much fun there. He pretty much spent the whole time on this dance game. He thought it was so much fun!
Blake loved getting to spend time with Nana. She let him play in the water and throw lots of money in. He thought it was pretty cool. I makes my day getting to see family and make sure Blake is having the time of his life

Next i was off on my own to get a much need pregnancy massage and pedicure! Oh my gosh i was in heaven. It felt sooooo good i didnt want to leave. Although, the lady that gave me my massage said that my neck and back are so bad she thought i had been in a car accident. I knew i had issues, but she kind of put it into perspective for me.
Then we dropped my little man off to nanas for the night and me, chance, and my brother and sister went to my favorite sandwich place ( Port of Subs) and then we were off to the Jazz game!! I love Jazz games. The crowd is so fun and this game was a really close one. I have not gotten to spend my birthday with my family in so long that it made my whole day!

All in all the day was great and filled with lots of love and family! I am one lucky girl to have my family in my life!

P.S. yea only one picture of me because i just noticed that i have gained weight in my face this pregnancy and am not feeling too great about it!
